From Wyoming to Wisconsin

It is great to meet you! I am a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee enrolled in their coordinated Public History and Library & Information Studies Master's program with a focus on museums and archives. My interest in material culture intersects with a deep interest in engaging with historically silenced voices through community engagement and scholarship.

When I was a kid, I hated history.

I would have never imagined that I would pursue a graduate level degree in history when I was younger. Looking back, I can now see that I did not hate history, I just was not interested in how it was presented. Visiting the Museo Nacional de Antropologia when I lived in Mexico in 5th grade changed that. I would take every opportunity to visit museums, eager to learn about how people lived in different times and places or to simply appreciate the exhibitions.
